April Fools!

So today is April Fool's Day...and in true Sneaky Mom form, I have been trying to come up with a fun trick to play on the boys. I saw this on pinterest and new it was perfect!
I can't wait to see their faces! LOL My kids LOVE their brownies. As a matter of fact, you can even hear CJ talking about brownies in the Halloween youtube video.

You SNEAKY MOM!

On second thought, maybe I should tell them I ate all of their Easter candy??!! Hahahaha. They are too smart for that. They'd never fall for that trick again. :)

Easter Fun

Every year we go to a cute little farm a couple of towns away called Benner's Farm. Each spring they have an event called "Barnyard Babies." They allow the kids (and parents) to hold all the spring babies they have on their farm. You can hold baby bunnies (my favorite), chicks, and ducklings. Sometimes they have baby goats you can bottle feed. Not this year though.

Every year I want to take a bunny home with me so badly!!! CJ too now!! But we resisted. They are so darn cute!

We also did our annual egg hunt at our house with the boys. This was the first year that Jake was really able to keep up with CJ. He did really good! Picture is terrible from the sunlight but I'm not complaining because its been a long time since we've seen the sun here in NY!

Mystery Reader

For Jake's birthday this year, CJ and I went to his PreK class as the "mystery reader" of the week. Luckily CJ's teacher was nice enough to cooperate with us to make this happen. AND he got to get out of class a few minutes early, which he loved of course!
Unfortunately they were all in the cafeteria for an assembly at the time, and Jake overheard the teacher pulling CJ out for "early dismissal" which made Jake very upset that CJ was going home but not him! Poor Jakey!!
By the time we surprised him in the classroom, he was already in a bad mood and close to tears. Can you say birthday surprise gone wrong?! Lol poor kid. CJ did a great job reading to Jake's class though. He is a GREAT reader!

Jake's first day of PreK!

So Jake started school on Friday.  He did so well!  He went right in with his bookbag on his back and a big smile on his face!  Quite the opposite of CJ who cried a river for the first week of PreK AND Kindergarten!  lol  That's the classic first and second child personalities I'm told.  lol

I am so proud of my little guy.  I can't believe how time has passed so quickly.  Speaking of time passing quickly, the 2 1/2 hours a day he's at school goes by like lightening!  lol  I am really enjoying the time to myself though.  I could get used to this!!  hahaha

CJ the artist

Something you may not know about CJ is that he is an AMAZING artist.  I can not express how impressed I am with his drawings.  I have no artistic ability whatsoever, so he definitely did not inherit this talent from me.  Nevertheless, I am so proud of his artwork.  What do you all think?

Back to School!

Back to school!  How exciting!  CJ has the same teacher as last year, which he is really excited about.  His actual response upon receiving that information in the mail was, "Awwwww, sweeeet!"  lol.  He's a big boy 3rd grader, I can't believe it!  As a matter of fact, his classroom is upstairs now.  CJ is very excited about being upstairs, and also that there isn't a bathroom in his classroom which means he gets to use the hall bathroom!

Jake really misses CJ when he's at school.  He just asked, "Is it time to pick up CJ yet?"
It's 12:30.
I can see that it's gonna be a long day.
I said, "No Jake, not yet."
He said, "Ohhh, I shoulda took a picture."
I say, "Of what?"
He says, "Of CJ cuz I miss him."
That's my boy.  Too cute.

Jake's first day of PreK is on Friday, so he won't have as much free time to miss CJ.  lol

P.S.  I found the free First Day of 3rd Grade printable here

So, I know it's been awhile...but I'm going to try to get back to blogging!  I'm pretty excited that CJ is starting 3rd grade tomorrow!  I can't believe how fast he is growing up.  Almost 8 years old!!  And my little Jake is starting Preschool on Friday.  Granted it's only 2 1/2 hours a day, but that's 2 1/2 hours a day to myself that I am REALLY looking forward to!!   Don't judge me...you know back to school time is the BEST time of the year!!!  hahaha

But seriously, I am hoping to catch you guys up with everything we've been doing all summer.  We had a lot of summer time fun in the pool and went on various outings.  But I have to say, that overall I was very focused on organizing my house this summer!  After plowing through graduate school and internships while being a full time mommy, everything else kind of fell by the wayside.  So I spent the summer clearing out the junk that collected and organizing whatever was left.  The boys weren't too happy to see some of their old toys go, but it had to be done!
